Eyes Like Ice

Eyes cold as ice,
  Heart made of stone,
    Stare so frozen,
      It chills to the bone,
No sacrifice made,
  No attention earned,
    No life destroyed,
     And no picture to burn,
The lines are drawn,
  The stage is set,
    Make your choice now,
      Because you don’t know yet,
How much you’ll suffer,
  The tears you will cry,
    How oblivious you’ll be,
      To those beautiful lips that lie,
So let your head spin,
  Let lies be woven,
    And let the scars bear,
     A painful token,
Of something you fooled yourself,
  To be so very real,
    And just let it go,
     So you don’t have to deal,
With the pain that comes,
  To something that was never born,
    Let the embers die,
     The bonds be torn,
And over time you’ll regret,
  That mistake that you made,
    They say time heals,
     And you’ll soon forget,
His beautiful face,
  And his broken smiles,
    That lied so smoothly,
     And led you on for miles.
